Three-time Bellator lightweight champion – Michael Chandler’s performance in his first UFC fight has become the talk of the town. Michael convincingly won his debut match within the first round of the UFC 257 on January 24, 2021, against Dan Hooker in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Since then, he has been planning bouts with all top-ranked lightweights to cement his standing within the UFC and beyond.
As per reports, Chandler’s management team is in discussion with several potential fighters for his next fight. His ambition is to become a UFC champion and given enough time, he will surely convince “The Eagle”, to come out of retirement and face Chandler.
Speaking to MMA Fighting, Chandler expresses his views on Nurmagomedov; “I think he’s got unfinished business”. “I think 29-0 is not enough for him. He wants 30-0 but it’s got to be the right challenge. He’s already beaten Gaethje. He’s already beaten Conor. He’s already beaten, Poirier. He’s already beaten essentially everyone in the top-five aside from me and Oliveira.”
The fact remains – Nurmagomedov has taken retirement from active competition and we’re not going to see Khabib VS Chandler anytime soon, or will we?.
