Diaz Bros have lately been making headlines, but not due to their feats inside the cage. Rather the mayhem has more to do with their off-cage unpleasant incidents. This year in May, Nick faced charges of domestic abuse (felony domestic battery and misdemeanor domestic battery).

Diaz maintained his stance that he was framed into these charges and had nothing to do to with them. But before he was cleared of his initial offense, he was handed with two more.

The additional charges were of domestic violence by strangulation and felony battery domestic violence, totaling 3 counts of felonies and one misdemeanor against the American artist.

However, news have surfaced that Nevada State has dropped all charges against 35-year-old fighter.

According to reports, the accuser couldn’t come up with substantial proof to support her claims. Moreover, she couldn’t show marks or injuries which she reported to have suffered during the physical assault.

This is what Nick’s lawyer had to say to the media on the dismissal of charges,

“[Diaz is] grateful the district attorney’s office was fair and thoughtful in reviewing this case based on evidence. I trust that ultimate dismissal of all charges with prejudice would be viewed as total vindication for nick and clears his name from being associated with such horrific but false allegations.”

During the ordeal, Nick Diaz had been hinting about his return to octagon. With the charges cleared off now, there would be a lot of expectations from his fans about his re-emergence in the octagon. In case the artist makes his appearance on the canvas, it would dust off a cage rust that lasted for about 3 years. The last time he fought was in 2015 against Anderson Silva where he suffered a middleweight title loss.

While his last victory was 7 years ago in UFC 137, when he dispatched a defeat to BJ Penn by unanimous decision.
