To all our beloved readers. Know this today, that not ALL weight loss supplements are evil.

We’re going to brush over the few different nutrient, vitamin, and mineral rich sources that are natural and will boost your metabolism efficiently for optimum weight loss. Along with some exercises to supplement your supplements, you’ll be well on your way to losing weight while chiseling out your body in no time.

1. Whey protein

At the top of our list, we’ll begin with protein. Not just any, but Whey protein. This milk derivative is considered the Gymmer’s best friend, and a King amongst other protein sources.

According to a study in the Nutrition Journal Whey protein not only helps carve and chisel out your muscles, what it also does, is help with weight loss. Comparative research had shown that those who had Whey protein at night before sleeping versus those who had other protein [such as soy protein shakes] had lost a considerable amount of weight the very next day compared to others.

Apart from Whey’s appetite suppressing properties which help make you feel full, the impact it has with on muscles and the very processes of building muscle all compliment each other. Muscle has a higher metabolic rate than fat, meaning every pound of fat you replace with muscle increases your metabolism and fat-managing/burning capabilities. Because it’s very chemical combination, the entire process requires more energy to burn, resulting in the efficient burning of calories to digest the Whey.

2. Caffeine (methylxanthine)

Caffeine. This stuff ought to be considered the elixir of life. Only because of its health rewarding benefits. Lowering risk of cancer, promoting fat oxidation [or your body’s ability to break down large fat molecules to use as energy], being a source of antioxidants and helping you lose fat by stimulating your central nervous system. All this encourages the fat to be burned for energy and calcium to help muscle contraction. Last but not least, this elixir is also the perfect PUMP you need to get you excited, get you lifting, and also lower your appetite after your training.  Don’t go overboard with it though, too much of anything can always have an adverse effect – like anxiety, heart palpitations and insulin sensitivity, all which apart from sounding scary, will make you gain weight too.

3. Green Tea

To me, green tea is a soft version of coffee. Increase fat oxidation, concentration, digestive ability, and ultimately weight loss. Not only that, this [softer] elixir also give you the energy you need to keep you up minus the jittery adrenaline rush you gain from coffee.  Combined with other supplements green tea may actually be the perfect one with fewer side effects. But as we’ve mentioned before, too much of anything can be a bad thing. So like coffee – be wary of the comedown from drinking too much tea.

4. Glutamine

Your body is an amazing thing. It creates everything you need to help keep you at optimum levels. Take the right measures and it’ll help with weight loss too. Amino acids are naturally produced by your body and they contain the largest amount of glutamine in your muscles, not only helping you repair them, but it also assisting with maintaining a healthy gut, while stabilizing blood sugar.

5. Chitosan

Made from the exoskeletons of insects and crustaceans. Sounds kind of brutal, but its effects are undeniable. A fiber known as ‘Shark Cartilage’ too [also very brutal sounding]. Reducing BMIs and body along with bloating and flatulence are not the only advantages of this miracle supplement. It doesn’t ‘burn’ fat or anything, but it does make you feel fuller which means eating less.

6. Hydroxycitric acid (HCA)

A derivative from a salt of an exotic dried fruit plant. HCA helps suppress appetite while reducing the amount of fat absorbed from your daily diet and boosts your metabolism. That sounds pretty neat to me.

According to a study, HCA was proven to decrease the amount of overall fat in the body. HCA is often sold in the form of garcinia extract—the name of the plant it’s derived from. But it may prove pointless if its not purely HCA. Hence always get a pure HCA supplement or a garcinia extract with 50 percent HCA. That should do the trick.

7. Cayenne pepper

If you were never a fan of Cayenne pepper then this info may change your perspective completely. Research indicates taking half a teaspoon in a capsule can help you eat fewer calories later in the day and crave sweet and salty snacks less intervals. Capsaicin along with capsinoids can help activate white and brown fat cells that modulate the metabolism. But the real trick is in the detail. Capsaicin activates the sympathetic nervous system which regulates adrenaline for fight or flight response, making you feel warmer after eating it.

8. Vitamin D

Vitamin D may be the secret to happiness, weight loss, and a good life. Why? Because it involves the sun. Or rather, it’s rays. A deficiency in the sunshine vitamin has been linked to higher rates of obesity, heart disease, and overall quality of life. Without Vitamin D the receptors all over your body, wouldn’t be able to efficiently manage your weight loss systems, in terms of alarming your body when you’re hungry or craving. With that being said, get out there in the sun and stock up on the most affordable Vitamin out there – it’s practically free.
