UFC and MMA fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Conor McGregor to the octagon. There is a real shortage of superstars because of some unfortunate events. His return fight would be the biggest draw that UFC has seen in months. This is why Dana White is hard at work to create a fight that will be worthy of his return.

Conor McGregor vs GSP

UFC 217 will be highlighted by the middleweight champion Michael Bisping and the returning Georges St-Pierre.

GSP’s return is coming at a perfect time when UFC needed another established MMA star to entice the fans.

Dana White cashed in on the excitement that surrounds the return of both GSP and McGregor and teased a possible fight between the two.

Pitting St-Pierre, who is considered by many to be one of the best UFC fighters of all time, against McGregor, who has proven to be the most marketable fighter that UFC has, is genius at work.

Everyone who is a fan of MMA and UFC will want to see these two go at it for 5 rounds.

Not so Fast

Dana White made it clear that this dream match couldn’t take place anytime soon.

If it does happen, it would take place at least 1 and a half years later.

There is the obvious weight difference. Conor can fight in the 170lbs but would he want? That’s a whole other story.

If it does happen, it could possibly be the biggest fight in UFC history.

McGregor has to defend us the lightweight title. And GSP would have to take a fight before he can McGregor.

With so many moving pieces, nothing is for sure right now and so much has to go right for this fight to happen.

But you have to admit, just the possibility of this matchup gets MMA fans’ adrenaline pumping.
