The Ultimate Fighting Championship is all set to make its big comeback to the Madison Square Garden, another highly awaited middleweight bout has been confirmed for UFC 244 as Brad Tavares will face undefeated Edmen Shahbazyan.

Shahbazyan was supposed to take on Krzysztof Jotko, but the Polish fighter had to withdraw from the match due to injury. Stepping up will be Brad Tavares, who was originally scheduled to face Ian Heinisch at UFC Fight Night 162 in Singapore one week earlier.

UFC 244 is set to take place on the 2nd of November, 2019 at the Madison Square Garden in New York and the show will be headlined by Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal.

Brad Tavares (17-5) is all set to make his return to the Octagon for the first time in over a year. The 31 year old, Hawaiian fighter saw a four-fight winning streak come to an end in his last outing as he suffered a unanimous decision loss to now-interim UFC Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya on the 6th of July, 2018.

Shahbazyan (10-0) has won all three of his UFC bouts since joining the promotion via Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2018. The unbeaten, 21-year-old, has an impressive submission win over Jack Marshman at UFC 239. Before that, he earned a 38-second TKO victory over Charles Byrd at UFC 235.
