A week earlier, news had surfaced that former two-division champ Conor McGregor was staying away from the limelight, as he is trying to hone his potential and skills to compete against the lethal reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Though his desire to rule the octagon is apparent, his turned back against the media frenzy made UFC quite upset about it, without them being able to have a view at Conor McGregor training for his upcoming bout.

However, the Notorious isn’t too discreet about his training. The Mystic Mac is always full of surprises and his latest video which he posted on his social media forums dropped jaws of his critics and fans alike. McGregor posted a footage of himself engaged in some serious training this Tuesday that has re-ignited the debate about the unfathomable potential of the 30-year-old artist.

The 29-second footage reveals McGregor working on fight tactics that can prove fatal for his rival; get-ups, takedown defense and clinch work. And to make it truly resonate with Conor McGregor’s style, we see him dropping down his fighting partner.

Conor McGregor has not set his foot inside the octagon since last November 2016, when he emerged victorious in bagging lightweight tile while battling with fighter Eddie Alvarez. His win marked him the sole artist to have bagged two-division accolades. Later, Conor made an appearance in the boxing ring in August last year, in a bout against the sport’s unbeaten Floyd Mayweather. McGregor was handed over a grueling defeat in the 10th round by Mayweather; however, his chance to face off Money is coveted by many boxers. Conor McGregor training has been into question a lot lately, due to his cage rust. Right now McGregor’s fighting career is 21-3.

His arch rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, on the other hand, faced off last-minute replacement Al Iaquinta in lightweight affair this year in April. Khabib won via decision. On the same night, McGregor relinquished his title owing to his absence and several misconducts outside the octagon. With the most brutal adversary out of way and a decision win or Iaquinta, Khabib progressed to a whopping 26-0 – a nifty record in MMA.

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor is all set to take place on October 6 as part of UFC 229 headliner event, where McGregor will try to reclaim the lightweight title.

What are your views about McGregor’s training footage? Do you think Conor McGregor training is reflective that he has the brawn and the brains to reclaim the title?
