In blinding limelight, Sambo World champion Khabib Nurmagomedov would enter UFC 229 cage to defend his lightweight title. Challenging him with pride and prejudice would be former two-division champion Conor McGregor. The fight has already been dubbed as the biggest bout for the promotion, owning to the wild and sensational series of events that steered it towards making it the headliner event for October 6 in “Sin City.”

There would be a lot of eyes that would observe every move of the fight including fans, MMA gurus and pundits and sport artists. Amongst those would be MMA fighter Kevin Lee who is regarded as a pro lightweight division contender.

There is a high chance that the Motown Phenom would be facing Conor vs. Khabib winner next, in an event if he fails to win his next probable fight against Justin Gaethje.

So is Lee ready to rumble with the winner of UFC 229? According to 25-year-old American artist Conor has the ability to outpace his bitter adversary Khabib. This is what the Michigan native had to say about potential winner of Conor vs. Khabib fireplay.

“I think Conor probably sleeps him. You know, the more I think about it and the more I get closer to it, Conor’s probably gonna sleep him. Khabib uses the same entrances. He’s a monster on top, I’ll give him that. Not much of a finisher up there. He got to a spot like with Michael Johnson where he’s practically begging Mike, ‘just give up’, like, ‘I don’t know how to finish you, just give up for me’. He’s gotta do that round after round, after round, after round. And someone like Conor, you walk onto that left hand like how Khabib like to do, you know that’s a sleeper right there. So, more and more I’m pushing towards Conor, even though I’m not really liking the match-up for him. So, it’s a good fight.”

Kevin also showed his interest in acting as a standby fighter, in case any of the two fighters failed to appear for the game. Though a co-event between Anthony Pettis and Tony Ferguson is already on UFC 229’s card, the American artist believes that his availability to fight for the main bout may come in handy.

“I’m still gonna be staying ready, because now you’ve got four of the top lightweights, and three of those guys are pretty prone to pulling out. So I’m gonna stay sharp, I’m always gonna be training anyway. I’m just gonna keep my weight low and stay ready for any moment, because this is MMA, you never know what’s gonna happen. I match up really well with all those guys and that’s what I’m looking forward to.”
