Jake Paul On Winning, Haters and The Future

Jake Paul had a lot to say to his haters both before and after the match. In the stunning victory Jake made it clear that he’s a real boxing prospect even if he didn’t grow up with boxing as many boxers have. Others hating him for his privileged status are now finally putting some respect on his name. After-all Anderson Silva isn’t an average fighter and his durability in the ring is infamous.

“No I wasn’t surprised, but in the sense of how many people were there for Anderson that was definitely shocking, I feel like I always get booed, even in my hometown of Cleveland I was getting booed.

“That’s the audience that likes to watch me, 50 per cent want to see me lose and 50 per cent are supporting. There’s really no gray area, most people aren’t coming to see a fight. They either hate me or want me to win.”

“I think smart people with intelligence are giving me props and respect, The WBC President [Mauricio Sulaiman] said that anyone who says Jake is not a real boxer is just bitter and is a hater. People like Teddy Atlas showing me mad respect, a lot of fighters showing me mad respect, a lot of MMA guys texting me saying, ‘You look really sharp, that was the best you’ve fought.’ I lose faith in my generation and my peers and us as a society and a world when I see that type of stuff and that type of stupidity,”

“It just sucks. It sucks because I worked so hard for this. I dedicate everything, sacrifice everything, every single day, bust my balls, have a 15-person team working around the clock to help me become the best boxer possible, and when I do something like beating Anderson Silva, they try to take it away from me. But I know deep down, and I guess that’s all that really matters.”

Anderson Silva On Losing, Strategy and Being Human

Meanwhile Anderson Silva has also put respect behind “The Problem Child”, Jake Paul. He’s had many good things to say about the YouTube-Boxing Star, but also criticized his own strategy simultaneously.

“I think it’s very important that people respect Jake’s moment now, I’m a black samurai, you know? I know I lost. I know I failed in my whole strategy. And my opponent [won], and I need to respect that. I’m not the same [as] the other guys [that] fight with Jake. You know, ‘I need revenge. I need a rematch.’ I don’t know. Let’s go see what happens, you know? And maybe. I don’t know.”

“I fail in the strategy, you know, and the last round Jake [landed] the good punch, You know, and my base is not correct. You know, that’s what my coach say, my base is not correct and that’s [why] I take the punch. But I don’t feel [a] knockout [coming]. I don’t feel power [from Paul], but I’m not in good balance. And that’s [why] I take the punch.

“Of course, I have more experience and I doing this a lot, and this happened with me again, one more time, you know. The last time it happened to me when I fight with Uriah Hall. I failed two times in that situation, and that time I just talked to my coach. ‘I don’t believe it because I training hard for don’t do the same stupid position,’ you know? But I’m human. I’m [a] superhero, but sometimes my half-human fails.”

Jake Paul Addresses Dana White & Publicity

One of Jake Paul’s staunchest haters is UFC president Dana White, who has made his own attempts to slow down the Jake train. Dana White apparently attempted to sabotage Jake’s performances more than once. Not to mention the UFC CEO invited Jake to his own platform as a prize fighter. However Jake has dealt with many of these rumors and strongly responded to Danas critique.

“The list goes on, and some of it I can’t even speak on,” Paul told reporters during a media scrum prior to Saturday’s fight, “But he’s been sending cease and desists for my content promoting this fight, and just doing things behind the scenes that are really shady. And we’re just finding out more and more stuff as the promotion goes on. I’m sure I’ll speak on it more at a later date.”

“I think it’s because I’m the No. 1 figurehead that is exposing his business model and how much of a shark he is and how poorly he treats his fighters, He said I wouldn’t fight Anderson Silva, who is one of UFC’s greats, and now here I am fighting him. And he largely, in part, promoted that. He’s the reason why I took this fight, is to prove him wrong and shut him the hell up.”

“He’s also telling reporters not to talk about me because he doesn’t want my fights to be big. He wants to be the only cash cow in town. He wants to run the fight game and I’m a threat to him being able to do that.”

Though RDX is skeptical about Jake’s seriousness The Jake Paul Vs Anderson Silva exhibition match showcased how much time and effort Jake has put into the sport. Despite the fixing allegations from the fans and the criticism by his peers he has definitely earned some respect for defeating The Living Legend Anderson “The Spider” Silva. We can only hope that Jake fights a pro boxer in his age bracket for his next boxing bout.
