Recently under UFC 229’s banner, two top guns from MMA’s realm Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor engaged in a power play to display their best feats. After putting up an exceptional performance Russian star successfully subdued his rival Conor McGregor. While Khabib’s grappling awed the spectators, it was the post-fight event that caught the most attention of the fans. Just right after sealing a win against his long-time nemesis, the Eagle flew off the octagon and attacked Conor’s teammate Dillon Danis who was standing in the Irishman’s corner at that time.

On the other hand, McGregor also caught up on the brawl by exchanging blows with the victor’s teammates who had barged into the octagon.

Following the post-fight melee, Nevada State Athletic Commission decided to release only half of Khabib’s prize money. The Dagestan native got to take home $1 million, and will only be able to take the other half until the Commission presents its report about the incident in December, in the presence of both fighters.

Initially both artists were sidelined from UFC till October 15; however, Nevada State Athletic Commission has decided to extend their suspension until the matter is fully resolved.

Following the news of extension in the suspension period, Conor McGregor’s Manager Audie Attar stated,

“I understand that the Nevada State Athletic Commission is doing a thorough investigation, which I am confident will benefit my client.”

UFC 229 main card fight lasted till four rounds when Khabib submitted McGregor via a neck crank. The Notorious has since been suspended from the octagon for medical reasons.

Khabib’s team members were also involved in the mayhem. Three of his team members were arrested, but let go soon. Conor has refused to press charges against the lightweight champion and his team members.

A video later surfaced showing that McGregor was involved in the melee too. While talking about the evidence that surfaced later, Commission Chair Anthony Marnell lll.

“If I would have had the video I now have, I would have also withheld McGregor’s purse.”

In the post-fight conference the current 155lb. champion apologized for his impulsive behaviour. The Eagle said that he was constantly targeted by his opponent during the post-fight buildup who didn’t shy away from ridiculing his religion, nationality and family.
