UFC undefeated Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov signed a three-year deal with Gorilla Energy Drinks in Moscow on November 26.

During the ceremony, the Dagestan native mentioned his notable fights and opponents inside the cage. One name that captured the most attention was of Conor McGregor.
The two famed MMA fighters clashed in a highly anticipated UFC event on October 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The headliner event of UFC 229 amassed an attendance of 20,034 fans with 1,308,000 online viewers, making it one of the most successful events held under the promotion’s banner.
The fight build-up for the event also garnered a lot of public attention with the two fighters engaged in an ongoing verbal warfare. Right after bagging an honorable win against his bitter rival, the top artists caught up in a post-fight melee, which led to their suspension by Nevada Athletic Commission. Nurmagomedov and McGregor have been sidelined from the cage until the Commission completes its investigation.
Despite their continued feuds, Khabib is still optimistic about the future. The Dagestan native is ready to bury the hatchet and believes in the possibility of the two fighters reconciling in the future.
According to Khabib,
“Everything is possible. Just as McGregor and I feuded, so we could reconcile.”
The Russian star also talked about the possibility of him facing off a long-time nemesis Tony Ferguson. Though Dana White considers Ferguson the most suitable opponent for Khabib to take up next, the Dagestan native is eyeing a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.
The 30-year-old star thinks taking up a boxing match against a 5-category champion Mayweather would bring him more cash and fame on his plate.
“For legacy and in the sense of the money aspect, and in a sporting sense, I think the Mayweather fight is much more interesting. The athletics commission needs to finish up first and then we’ll talk.”
