Oscar Rivas had no trouble finding his footing on his return to the ring against Sylvera Louis during the main event of card promoted by Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM), last Tuesday 17 March 2021.

Oscar “Kaboom” Rivas (27-1, 19 KOs) won by stoppage against Sylvera “Sly” Louis (8-5, 4 KOs), when Louis abandoned after the third round of the fight, at Hotel Plaza Quebec, in Quebec City, Canada.

“I felt very strong physically and my reflexes were sharp,” Rivas said.

Rivas is coming off a 20-month hiatus. His previous fight was against Dillian Whyte, in July 2019, which resulted in the first loss of his career. With his current win over Louis, Rivas is now potentially set up against Kevin Lerena or Bryant Jennings for a shot at the new WBC bridgerweight (super-heavy-light) title.

“I feel like I’m going to show some great things in this new weight class [of bridgerweight],” the Heavyweight contender said. “My goal is to become world champion and I will wait for what comes.”

His promoter, GYM’s Yvon Michel, indicated that an official announcement will be coming out soon, possibly in early April 2021.
