There is that time of the year in boxing, normally following the summer months when most of the big fights take place when those who have lost come out calling for rematches left, right and centre. That time is now upon us with first, Nathan Cleverly re-arranging a grudge match and then Paul Smith calling for a rematch against Arthur Abraham. Elsewhere Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury will be squaring up again at the Excel Arena in London.

Nathan Cleverly is set to take on Tony Bellew for the second time at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on 22nd November 2014. It is no secret that Cleverly and Bellew dislike each other following Cleverly’s 4th round TKO last time the pair met back in October 2011. Once again the fight will take place in Tony Bellew’s backyard (Liverpool) giving him the home advantage but most people think Cleverly is likely to repeat his previous victory when the pair meet again.

As you’d expect, Paul Smith has also come out in recent days instantly calling for a rematch with Arthur Abraham. Smith felt he was robbed in the first fight, and whether or not that is the case, it would certainly make an interesting rematch if it was to take place in his home town of Liverpool.

One person we’re sure won’t be calling for a rematch anytime soon is George Groves, who beat Christophe Rebrasse recently in a hard fought but controlled contest.
