Ronda Rousey, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion, had been hiding after her unexpected loss at UFC 193. Rousey lost her title to Holly Holm, the expert mixed martial artist and former boxing star who now holds a track record of 10-0.
Rousey got injured after the fight and was taken to the hospital immediately. Her injuries may have healed but she’ll not be stepping into the octagon for the next few months. People have been waiting to hear from Rousey and after a long period of anticipation and trauma, Rousey has finally broken her silence. She recently gave an interview to ESPN in which she revealed the questions to some answers which many people were curious about.
Rousey said that she wants to have a rematch with Holm but she won’t be able to fight for a few months. She said, “It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact. I’m just really f—ing sad.”
“I need to come back. I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I’m going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open; I have to f—ing do it!”
Rousey also said that her rematch with Holm is going to decide what she’s going to do next. If she loses, she’ll end it all and stop fighting but if she knocks Holm down and wins back her title, she’ll continue her career. “I guess it’s all going to be determined by what happens in the rematch. Everything is going to be determined by that. Either I’ll win and keep going or I won’t and I’ll be done with everything,” Rousey said.
