This Saturday, Nathan Gorman and Daniel Dubois put their professional records on the line in the capital at the O2 Arena for the British heavyweight title. The 21-year-old, Dubois of Greenwich has a record of 11 straight wins with 10 knockouts. 23-year-old Gorman, on the other hand, comes from a rich fighting background racking up 11 knockouts from 16 wins.

The two fighters have had remarkably similar career trajectories. Dubois was victorious over Richard Lartey in the fourth round of his match in April. While Gorman had a showdown against Johnson and Cojanu-claiming unanimous decision victories over the pair in March and December. The two fighters are now competing for the British heavyweight title shot and Gorman is very confident in his ability to defeat his opponent, taking inspiration from Ruiz’s win over Anthony Joshua.

“Turns out chiseled muscles aren’t everything,” he said, “He knows at the bottom of his heart that I am no easy fight that is guaranteed.”

Dubois, on the other hand, has bagged WBC Youth World title and the Southern Area, English, WBO European and WBO Global heavyweight belts. Dubois is relying on his power and Gorman on his agile speed to win, but Gorman is a more rounded boxer of the two which definitely adds to his strength.

UK viewers will able to watch Daniel Dubois vs Nathan Gorman on BT Sport 1 or BT Sport 4K UHD with coverage beginning at 7:30pm BST. You can get the tickets from Axs and eventim.
