The all British heavyweight affair that failed to really grab anyone’s imagination in the first place ended in comical circumstances when both fighters pulled out, leaving the main undercard fight to become the main event. First Dereck Chisora pulled out with a fractured hand and then Tyson Fury pulled out a couple of days before the fight was scheduled to take place because his uncle was in hospital.  After 2 months of fake trash talk and fake square ups to try and create some interest in the fight, it was eventually called off and has now been re-arranged for 22nd November 2014.

The main people we feel sorry for are the fight fans who bought expensive tickets to the original bout (anywhere between £35 and £500) and had to go and watch an undercard fight instead as they weren’t entitled to a refund. It will be interesting to see how the ticket sales go for the rearranged fight when they eventually go on sale and how they go about promoting the next one.

Going in to the last fight, the bookies favourite was Tyson Fury because of his superior reach, height and past record despite the fact that Dereck Chisora has much more experience and has fought far better opponents in the past such as Klitschko and David Haye (albeit losing!). It will certainly be interesting to see how the build up to the next fight plays out and we’ll see if the fight actually takes place this time.
