We all are watching over UFC’s field like a hawk that the moment any news regarding UFC 229 comes up and we would grab it and fly away. For all the fans and enthusiasts who have been eagerly awaiting the official UFC 229 conference, lo and behold! UFC 229 conference would be hitting New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on September 20 at 5 p.m. ET. for its main card event. Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov both would be attending the conference, according to an announcement made by UFC on Wednesday afternoon.

The Russian star last bout comes as a victory against last-minute replacement Al Iaquinta in a lightweight fight in April this year. The same night, Conor McGregor was quietly stripped off his accolade since he had not been active on the octagon for long. With his arch rival away from the belt and a manageable win over a fresh-replacement, Khabib now boasts an impressive 26-0 record.

Conor has been away from the cage since 2016. He last locked horns with Eddie Alvarez that led him to embrace the lightweight accolade. In 2017, McGregor stirred some news with his headlining boxing match with boxing’s unbeaten Floyd Mayweather. Though McGregor faced defeat in the 10th round, it landed him a 4th spot in Forbes magazine for the highest-paid athlete category. The Irish currently has a record of 21-3; however, has relinquished both his belts owing to his inactivity and misconducts.

While the main card fight is garnering a lot of attention, UFC 229 will also be featuring other fights such as a sensational battle between former champion Anthony Pettis and interim champion Tony Ferguson in a lightweight affair. Another encounters to look for is a heavyweight battle between Alexander Volkov and Derrick Lewis and a light heavyweight brawl between Ovince Saint Preux and Dominick Reyes.

UFC 229 is scheduled for October 6 in Sin City at T-Mobile Arena.

Who do you think will wear the lightweight crown, Khabib or Conor?
