With the biggest fight of UFC just right the corner, there hasn’t been much hype as fans were anticipating for the mammoth bout. With a few videos and ads here and there, there hasn’t been any noticeable promotion going on. Now the ice would be broken for the first time with UFC 229 press conference on Thursday (September 20). The conference would be featuring the main card’s participants, former lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor and current lightweight title holder Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Up till now, it was believed that the conference would be a closely guarded event with key UFC personnel and media in attendance. However, a tweet by the Notorious states otherwise. Conor has recently posted a tweet saying that a UFC 229 conference ticket costs only a single Proper Twelve whiskey bottle.

An event with McGregor sharing the same roof with his arch rival doesn’t come without big risks. Now, his latest tweet can act as a recipe for disaster given that he doesn’t shy away from showcasing his apparent notoriety.

UFC 229 press conference marks Mystic Mac’s appearance under UFC’s roof after a period of two years. The last time Conor showed on UFC’s venue was a sensational bout in November 2016 as part of UFC 205. Conor dispatched a grueling defeat to Eddie Alvarez to bag the lightweight accolade, which later he relinquished due to his inactivity.

Nurmagomedov also was part of UFC 229 event as the Dagestani Eagle locked horns with Michael Johnson submitting the latter to third-round loss.

After proving his mettle on UFC 205 canvas, McGregor went on to display feats inside boxing ring against undefeated boxing king Floyd Mayweather. However, this bout didn’t bring in glad tidings for the Irish artist, as he faced a 10th round defeat.

Khabib, meanwhile, managed to bag two more victories against fighters Edson Barboza and Al Iaquinta, inching his resume to an impressive 26-0. By trampling over his opponent Al Iaquinta, The Eagle grabbed the vacant lightweight title.

In the headliner event for UFC 229, Khabib would be defending his lightweight accolade against challenger Conor McGregor in a frightening encounter. UFC 229 is scheduled for October 6 in T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
