Yair Rodriguez vs. Jeremy Stephens has been re-booked as the co-main event of UFC Fight Night in Boston on October 18th.

Previously, Rodriguez and Stephens headlined UFC Fight Night 159 last Sat., Sept. 21, 2019 in Mexico City, Mexico, however, the fight ended in just 15 seconds after Rodriguez accidentally poked Stephens in the eye. The officials decided to rule the fight a “No Contest” after a five-minute break because Stephens was unable to open his eye.

Afterward, the war-of-words continued between the two fighters, as Rodriguez in a post-fight interview, didn’t rule out Stephens over-exaggerating his injuries. As a result, Stephens immediately called to fight Rodriguez again as soon as possible. And then the following day, the two men were involved in a small tussle in the hotel lobby.

The Mexican-born fighter, Rodriguez (11-2, 1NC) scored a last-second KO of Chan Sung Jung aka “Korean Zombie” at UFC Colorado in November 2018. He suffered his first UFC loss in his fight before that, suffering a one-sided defeat at the hands of Frankie Edgar.

The American MMA artist, Stephens (28-16, 1NC) lost his last two bouts before facing Rodriguez this past weekend at UFC Mexico City. Earlier this year, he lost a unanimous decision to Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC 235 and got defeated by Jose Aldo in July 2018.
