Welterweight champion Kell Brook is now back in action against Canada-based Romanian boxer, Jo Jo Dan. The highly anticipated fight will take place at Motorpoint Arena in Brook’s hometown of Sheffield, England.
This is Brook’s first fight after being injured, forcing him to cancel his fight in 2014. The 28 year old boxing star was in Spain on vacation, where he suffered a wound in his left leg, following an traumatic accident.
Brook’s match against Jo Jo Dan has been confirmed by Dan’s manager and will happen in his hometown. Last year in Aug, Brook scored a clear victory, winning a 147 pound world trophy against American boxer Shawn Porter.
33 year old Jo Jo Dan, who is based in Montreal, defeated Kevin Bizier for a 2nd time on Dec 19, which made him the obvious opponent for Kell Brook. In Dan’s 36 match career, there have been 5 wins and 2 defeats to his name.
Critics are expecting a huge crowd at Motorpoint Arena, where the two boxing champions will come against each other to win the title. In a press conference, Brook couldn’t contain his excitement, leaving him struggling to hide his emotions when speaking about his 1st match since his recovery.
Although, Brook is very enthusiastic about the fight, he isn’t underestimating his future opponent. He admits that Jo Jo is not an easy competitor. He knows that he is for a tough fight, but believes he is certain to win the title.
