WBC king Deontay Wilder claims that Anthony Joshua’s team rejected him “five times” but now the Brit has “nowhere to go”. Now Wilder will decide where and when the two unbeaten heavyweight champs fight.
Deontay Wilder has taunted fellow unbeaten heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua by saying he has lost all his negotiating power should they meet.
The representatives from Deontay Wilder approached Joshua’s team many times. However, Joshua’s team rejected the offers that were made, which frustrated the American heavyweight.
Wilder is now going to face mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale in Brooklyn on Saturday. However, Wilder knows only beating Britain’s WBA, IBF and WBO champ Joshua would give him legendary status.
The Bronze Bomber, 33, told TMZ Sports how he grew frustrated with repeated rebuffs from Team Joshua.
He said:,
“We did that five times. And they denied me.
“So I don’t want to hear him talking about ‘coming to see me’ because we came and saw you, ya’ll still ran.”
He stressed that now the situation is completely different, since AJ’s left with no negotiating strength and the Brit hero has to chase this fight in order to have any credibility.
Wilder added:
“Now you want me to come and see you? Nah. Now it’s on our terms.
“We’ll come and see you when we WANT to come and see you.”
Before all that, Deontay Wilder has to settle Californian Breazeale for the angry exchange they both had in a hotel lobby in Alabama.
He said:
“When you make it personal for me, now I really want to hurt you.
“I’m the man with the big right hand, baby. I possess all the power!”
