Jon Jones responds to Dominick Reyes’ post-fight call out at UFC London and says he’s ‘been waiting’  at the same spot for long. Since the start, Dominick Reyes has been training hard to fight Jon Jones. He wanted Jones to be in possession of UFC gold when he gets the chance to fight him.

Dominick Reyes has absolutely put a remarkable show ever since he burst onto the UFC scene in June 2017. He put his unbeaten record (11-0, 5-0 UFC) on the line to fight the lightweight opponent Volkan Oezdemir at UFC London last week. Reyes was able to pull a stunner through a split decision for which many thought could have gone Oezdemir’s way.

Dominick Reyes was asked about a prospective opponent he wanted to face in the future. He responded,

“Nobody in mind, but I’m coming for you Jon [Jones], I’m coming for you.”

Reyes was talking about the lightweight superstar Jon Jones who currently holds the UFC Gold. Jones has dominated the Octagon since he first stepped into the UFC in August 2008. The longest reigning light heavyweight champion in UFC history and arguably the greatest fighter to ever compete in mixed martial arts also had a response for Reyes on Twitter.

“Been waiting in the same spot for like 8 years now.”

Jon Jones recently bested Anthony Smith in a five-round bout that took place on March 2, 2019 at UFC 235. His victory came in a lopsided unanimous decision where Jones enjoyed a one-sided dominance and did whatever he wanted to Smith.

Reyes has jumped three spots in the heavyweight rankings after defeating Oezdemir and goes to No. 5 in the decision. He still lines up behind Smith, Thiago Santos, Alexander Gustafsson and former champion, Daniel Cormier, in the light heavyweight rankings.

Out of top five in the division only two men, Thiago Santos and Reyes, are left whom Jon Jones has not defeated yet therefore the fight between Jones and Reyes is not farfetched.
