Verbal sparring between celebrities has become very common but few have the type of excitement that the one between Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Vasyl Lomachenko had recent. A Mayweather vs Lomachenko matchup would’ve been intriguing. That matchup will most likely never happen. That didn’t stop Lomachenko from calling out Mayweather.

Mayweather vs Lomachenko

Lomachenko shared a video on his social recently and tagged Mayweather. It was a clear callout.

The 40-year-old is currently enjoying his retirement. There has been some buzz about him maybe trying his hand at MMA but nothing concrete.

He has refuted any possibility of coming out of retirement for any fight.

But he did respond to Loma’s challenge in the best possible way in which only Mayweather can. He said that Lomachenko should challenge Mikey Garcia because that is a fight that people want to see.

As a fan of boxing, I would agree with Floyd.

Mayweather’s Fighter

In an interview, Lomachenko clarified that his callout wasn’t meant for Mayweather himself but for his fighter.

Lomachenko wants to fight Gervonta Davis. The lightweight fighter is 19-0 for his career with 18 knockouts.

But he hasn’t faced a fighter like Loma before.

Lomachenko accused Mayweather of protecting his fighter by not letting Davis fight him.

Money thinks that Lomachenko should be focusing on bigger fish.

Mikey Garcia is all set to make history, his next fight should be Lomachenko.

Loma will have to move up weight classes to fight Garcia. According to Mayweather, that’s what great fighters do.

They seek bigger and better challenges on their way to glory.

Garcia vs Lomachenko

The Mexican-American boxer is aiming for this fourth championship. If he is able to win, he will make history.

Going up against Lomachenko, if Loma decides to accept the fight and move up, will be his toughest challenge. He is 37-0. The fight with Lipinets will be his 38th fight.

If he fights Loma, will he be able to keep his undefeated record?
