With an armbar submission finish at UFC 216, Demetrious Johnson became immortal in the world of MMA. The best pound-for-pound fighter in the business made history by defending his title successfully for the 11th straight time. Beating the previous record (10 defenses) held by UFC legend Andersen Silva.

UFC 216 – Johnson Reigns Supreme

Johnson fought an unbelievable match, outmatching the opponent Borg in every way possible.

After 4 rounds of besting Ray Borg, ‘Mighty Mouse’ pulled off an amazing move.

He suplexed Borg and while doing that he timed his jump and locked Borg in an armbar and got the finish he wanted.

It was the most iconic move in MMA history and shows the skill and agility of Demetrious Johnson.

The fight deserved to be the headliner and now even the doubters realize that Johnson deserves all the praise he gets.

UFC 216 – Ferguson is the Interim Champion

UFC 216 fight card also included the co-main event Ferguson vs Lee.

Early in the match Kevin Lee showed the speed and youth and was very aggressive. He gave Ferguson some trouble, landing some clean shots.

But Ferguson used his experience and ground game to take the advantage.

In round 3, Ferguson showed his Jiu-Jitsu skills and countered when Lee took him down to the ground.

Ferguson showed off his superior experience by getting hold of Lee and making him submit.

Interim Champ vs The Champ

When the event was done and fans were discussing their favorite fight of the night. The focus of the interim lightweight champion Ferguson and Dana White shifted towards Conor McGregor.

The next logical matchup for Conor McGregor should be with Tony Ferguson.

The latter is now the UFC interim lightweight champion and McGregor is the champion.

There is still doubt which opponent Conor McGregor will choose for his return to UFC.

His decision will come in due time.

For now, celebrate the great fighters who took part in UFC 216 and made it a night to remember.
