It’s been only two months since Jon Jones last defended his UFC light heavyweight title but the undisputed ruling champion is already thinking to come back to the Octagon.
In a recent post on Instagram, the greatest professional fighter of all-time teased an upcoming ‘big’ fight announcement soon when asked by a follower about his return to the Octagon however, he gave no hint about his opponent.
“Buckle your seatbelt my friends, Big (fight) announcement coming soon,” Jones wrote.
The 32-year-old Jones last fought in July, when he scored a decision victory over Brazilian mixed martial artist Thiag Santos at UFC 239 in a headlining title bout at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. He is now 25-1 with a no-contest, including 16 wins via either knockout or submission.
Jones has previously trifled with a heavyweight super fight against WWE superstar Brock Lesnar, but Lesnar is expected to retire from MMA. The only other ‘big’ bout that comes to mind is a possible rematch with longtime opponent Daniel Cormier, or a heavyweight title bout against Stipe Miocic, who recently TKO’d Daniel Cormier at UFC 241 to reclaim the HW belt.
