The undefeated English pugilist Kell Brook is eyeing a showdown with the pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. this summer. Brook will soon be flying to Las Vegas where Mayweather is having a historic showdown with the Filipino eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao.
Brook, who has been undefeated throughout his career, believes locking horns with the undefeated Mayweather would result in a spectacular fight. Mayweather is expected to do some serious thinking over this proposal as well since he now announced plans to continue fighting after his bout with Pacquiao.
Both undefeated champions, Brook and Mayweather are booked for now. Brooke, who took down Shawn Porter to win the IBF welterweight championship, will be defending his title against the Romanian professional boxer Jo Jo Dan this week. On the other hand, Mayweather is on his way to the biggest fight in the history of boxing with Pacquiao on 2nd May at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas.
Brook is planning to take a ringside seat as Mayweather and Pacquiao lock their horns in the ‘fight of the century’ for the WBA/WBO and WBC welterweight championships. Brook’s wish to fight Mayweather after 2nd May is also a secret prediction about Mayweather’s victory in the 2nd May bout.
Brook sounded very confident while expressing his wish to have a face-off with Mayweather.
“I want Mayweather. I want the best pound-for-pound fighter that everyone has titled him as. I want to fight the very best – I’m in my prime, I’m unbeaten, I’m world champion,” said Brooke.
