Conor McGregor is coming off one of the biggest boxing matches in history. He made upwards to a $100 million from that fight and is currently resting up and mulling what he is going to do in the future. He has opportunities lined up to participate in MMA, boxing, and there are also some rumors about a possible wrestling move.

Conor McGregor and the Possibilities

Conor McGregor is the current UFC lightweight champion and he has to defend that title in order to keep it.

If he doesn’t, then he could be stripped of that title.

So the first and best possibility for McGregor is a bout inside the octagon.

The most tantalizing matchup for him would be to complete the Nate Diaz trilogy. The two are 1-1 in fights against each other and a 3rd fight will finally give us a clear winner of the matchup.

From a fans’ and financial perspective, a McGregor vs Diaz III makes the most sense. It will be the biggest fight to come UFC’s way in a long time.

But there also another contender in the mix. Tony Ferguson.

He won the interim lightweight title by stopping Kevin Lee at UFC 216. He has worked hard to get the interim belt and he should be the one getting a shot at McGregor.

According to sources, McGregor vs Ferguson is being negotiated and could happen early in 2018.

Other Sports

On the other hand, boxing has a draw for McGregor. A lot of boxers have shown interest in fighting McGregor inside the ring.

He made millions of dollars in his debut. He has the taste of being a prized boxer now. There is a slim chance that he might go back to boxing.

There was also a rumor going around that he might try WWE but that one was shut down by Dana White himself.

McGregor himself has expressed the opinion that he is aware of the opportunities he has but he would like to take care of business at the UFC first.
