The Bellator MMA Women’s Flyweight Title sets as the main event of Bellator 236 where champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane will attempt to defend her flyweight title against Kate Jackson.
The event takes place on December 21 on Saturday, at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
A proud native Hawaiian, Macfarlane (10-0) is going to be making the fourth defense of her championship, last defending it against Veta Arteaga at Bellator 220 in April. Earlier, Macfarlane has defended the title three times and all of those title defenses ended by a form of finish. The 29-year-old is currently riding a 10-fight winning streak. Macfarlane has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of submission.
British Kate Jackson (11-3-1), also a former competitor of The Ultimate Fighter Season 23, enters the contest with a two-fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Anastasia Yankova and Lena Ovchynnikova. The 33-year-old has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter, with two of them coming to a pair of UFC veterans in Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Valerie Letourneau.
Along with the main event, KHON confirmed that AJ McKee vs Derek Campos, will be the event’s co-headliner.
