The Ultimate Fighting Championship confirmed a much-anticipated Welterweight Championship bout between ruling king, Kamaru Usman and former interim champion, Colby Covington.
The two are set face each other at the upcoming UFC 245 event on Dec. 14, 2019, in T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight will be Usman’s first-ever title defense when he defeated Tyron Woodley in the co-main event of UFC 235 on April 2019, extending his win streak to 14 straight. With the victory, The “Nigerian Nightmare” won the fight via unanimous decision and it also marked his first title win in the UFC.
Colby Covington made his promotional return in the main event of UFC on August 3rd, 2019. Upon his return to the cage, “Chaos” crushed former American Top Team training partner and former UFC Welterweight Champion, Robbie Lawler.
