Recently the current 155 lb. champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has shown his interest in fighting boxing’s undefeated Floyd Mayweather to which the boxer has responded favorably. Now, news are rife that Khabib wants to lock horns on his home turf, in a bout which would be a record-breaker.
When the Russian Eagle expressed his ambition to follow the footsteps of his bitter rival Conor McGregor, Mayweather was quick to respond back saying “come into my world.”
Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has declared his meeting with Russian Boxing Federation’s top management in an attempt to get a go ahead in the sport. The Eagle shared the news on Instagram. The elated Dagestani native stated,
“They are sure that we will gather 100,000 spectators.”
Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov stated in his post that he was interested in fighting ‘Money’ on his home turf to “set a world record for the sale of paid broadcasts.”
According to the undefeated lightweight king,
“We want the fight to take place in Moscow at the legendary Luzhniki Arena.”
Boxing’s unbeaten Floyd Mayweather has an astounding 50-0 record, as he conveniently dispatched a KO to former two-category UFC champion Conor McGregor last year. The fight brought in a lot of revenue gathering a gross amount of 450 million pounds, while Money took home a hefty 210 million pounds. In an Instagram post prior to UFC 229, Mayweather said that the 10 rounds that he toyed with McGregor were the easiest in his career.
After defeating his most bitter rival Conor McGregor, Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has turned his attention towards a boxing bout following his temporary suspension from UFC for his post-fight melee. The winner jumped off the cage right after sealing a win to throw a flying kick to Conor’s teammate who was standing in the Irishman’s corner at that time.
