Richest Fight in History
There are only 3 weeks remaining until Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0) and Conor McGregor (0-0) step into the ring and battle it out in the richest fight in history.
Experts are predicting that the fight could raise more than $400 million in revenues. The ticket pricing and the PPV sales may help to break even that predicted mark.
Each fighter is set to make a huge purse, with Mayweather set to pocket close to $300 million. In a recent interview, ‘Money’ said that he will be ‘making about $3 million per minute’.
To put that into perspective, Bill Gates makes a measly $23,000 per minute in comparison.
Millions in Bets
With hundreds of millions of dollars already in play, Betfair has revealed that the bets for the fight have crossed a record breaking £10 million ($13 million).
That is more than they have received for any boxing fight in history. The last betting record was set for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, which was £8.9 million. But that was the closing number for the fight.
For the Mayweather and McGregor fight, the number has already reached £11 million, and we are still 19 days away from the fight.
The company is saying that they expect the amounts to get to £50 million in the coming weeks and on fight the day the mark will be close to £100 Million!
That is a staggering mark and getting close to Super Bowl and March Madness territory.

Betfair, like many other betting sites, is giving 1/5 odds on Mayweather because he is the favorite to win. Conor McGregor is at 5/1 being the underdog.
