Paulie Malignaggi stormed out of the Conor McGregor training camp (for his preparation against Floyd Mayweather) after some pictures of his sparring sessions were released. They didn’t show him in the best of light. He made claims that the pictures didn’t tell the whole story. He leveled some allegations against Conor and his camp.

The Malignaggi Fight Plan

Camp McGregor recently released the footage of the sparring session between Malignaggi and McGregor, to “clear” things up. Do you think that was a legit knockdown or a push?

It may not be what Conor intended, but it seems that it is exactly what Malignaggi wanted.

The way the whole series of events happened, it was clear that Malignaggi had an angle behind his antics.

He wanted to fight McGregor after the latter got done with Mayweather.

Now he has come out and said that the bad blood between them could only be solved with a boxing bout. A fight like that couldn’t happen until next year, if at all.

The Waiting Game

In his statement, Malignaggi also said that “I’m focused on how he looks against Mayweather”. Basically, he wants to wait and see how McGregor’s showing against Mayweather goes.

McGregor is going against one of the most skilled boxers of all time, in his debut as a boxer. It is very smart of Malignaggi to wait and see the results of that fight. If Conor has a good showing, fans are going to want to see his next fight as well. That will be in Malignaggi’s favor.

For now, the fans are only looking forward to the Aug 26 bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor in Las Vegas. It will be an epic night of boxing, with the richest fight in history on the card.

Whether or not Malignaggi will get his shot at McGregor or not is still little ways off. Would you want to see that fight? Sound off in the comments.
